The imagery for ‘Via Crucis – A Photographer Before the Cross,’ is found within a single abandoned granite quarry in Rockport, Massachusetts. And all within a 300 step walking distance. The smooth vertical shafts are the remnants of drill holes, drilled by hand by the nameless quarry workers in the late 19th to 20th century. The horizontal cracks, striations are ancient and natural. The combination of these 2 features, have allowed me over the past decade to move into this personal representation of the Way of the Cross.
